Breast augmentation, also known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical operation that enlarges the size, shape, or fullness of the breasts.

Under the chest muscles or breast tissue, the surgeon puts silicone, saline, or other composite breast implants. Implants typically last 7 to 12 years.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), there were 279,143 breast augmentation procedures performed in the United States in 2015.

This was 2% lower than the previous year, but 31% greater than the year before.

What are the advantages of breast augmentation?

Breast augmentation is performed for the following reasons:

Reconstructive breast surgery may be performed as part of breast cancer treatment. Cosmetic breast surgery is performed to improve one’s appearance. Breast augmentation is usually seen as a cosmetic procedure.

Breast enlargement through cosmetic surgery enhances women’s self-esteem and perceptions about their sexuality, according to a 2007 study by University of Florida researchers. Plastic Surgery Nursing published the findings.

What are breast implants and how do you get them?

A breast implant is a medical device that is surgically implanted into the breast to augment, reconstruct, or create the physical form of the breast.

Breast implants are divided into three categories:

A sterile saline solution, similar to salt water, is used to fill saline implants. The solution is contained within a silicone elastomer casing. Different volumes of saline solution can be used to fill these implants. This has an impact on the breast’s sensation, firmness, and contour.

If a saline implant leaks, the solution will be naturally absorbed and ejected.

A silicone outer shell is filled with silicone gel in silicone gel-filled implants. When a silicone-filled implant leaks, the gel either stays in the shell or leaks into the breast implant pocket. A silicone-filled implant that is leaking may or may not collapse.

Patients who choose this sort of implant should see their doctor more frequently than those who choose saline solution implants. The status of the implants can be assessed with an MRI or ultrasound scan.

Polypropylene thread, soy oil, or another material can be used to fill alternative composite implants.

What can you expect?

Because breast augmentation is a sort of surgery, people should consider their options carefully before proceeding.

Before surgery, the surgeon should assist the patient in selecting the appropriate implant size. This can be accomplished by inserting various sized implants into a bra and observing how they feel.

In most cases, a general anesthetic is utilized to keep the patient sleeping during surgery. The patient is awake when a local anesthetic is applied.

Optional incisions

The surgeon and the patient should talk about the various incision choices.

The following options are available to you:

Implant insertion and placement

A pocket is created for the breast implant.

There are two different kinds of placement:

Closing the wounds

In the breast tissue, the surgeon heals the incisions with multilayer sutures or stitches. Stitches, skin adhesives, and surgical tape are used to close and maintain the skin’s closure.

The incision lines will be apparent at first, but they will diminish over time.

Analyzing the outcomes

Swelling will occur after surgery, but it should subside within two weeks. Incision lines will vanish as well. The patient will then be able to assess whether or not the surgery matched her expectations.

Recovery

The patient will be given medicines to relieve the pain when the anesthesia wears off.

  3. What does a mommy makeover cost in Atlanta?
  4. How long does it take to recuperate after a mommy makeover?
  5. Will having more children jeopardize my mommy makeover?

Is it worthwhile to invest in a mother makeover?

To be honest, only you can answer this question, however I can provide some advice based on my experience and comments from my own patients. A mommy makeover is all about regaining confidence and comfort in your appearance, as well as embracing your body. It’s not about “appearing flawless” or even obtaining some type of idealized image imposed from without. My goal is to listen to a patient’s goals and then collaborate with her to make the improvements she desires. These frequently include:

With a mommy makeover, a qualified plastic surgeon can help you attain all of these goals, believe it or not. Furthermore, these changes—and the resulting gain in comfort and confidence—can endure for years or even decades, especially if you are no longer pregnant (more on that below).

What is the most difficult aspect of the mommy makeover procedure?

Although it varies from person to person, there are two common themes I hear. For starters, many women claim it’s because of the recuperation. Second, there are costs. Both are, thankfully, resolvable.

RECOVERY

I’ll start with the topic of recuperation. It takes time, and depending on the treatments you have, you will be restricted in your activities, particularly during the first three or four weeks following surgery. While pain may usually be managed with medication, many mothers find it difficult to pick up their children or assist them as much as they would like. I have two suggestions for you.

First and foremost, seek assistance. Some women are fortunate to have Grandma eager to step in and help, but if you don’t, chat to friends and see if they can cover for you, especially at critical moments like when your children need to get ready for school. You can also plan to exchange childcare—if your friends can help you with your kids, you can return the favor when they want to go away for the weekend or get their own mommy makeover. Second, if you and your children are generally inseparable, think outside the box when it comes to bonding during recuperation. Request that they join you in bed (but not on you!) and tell you stories or watch a cartoon marathon with you. Allow them to assist you by replenishing your water and retrieving items you require. Just make sure they understand that you need to be treated with particular caution while you recover! Kisses are fine, but bear hugs are strictly forbidden.

AFFORDABILITY

Let’s talk about charges now, because for some people, this is the most difficult component. There are numerous patient financing alternatives available, and many plastic surgery practices (including mine) will assist you in applying for and obtaining financing.

Keep your eyes on the prize with reminders to save ahead (or save for a down payment). Print out a couple before and after photographs of mommy makeover patients who looked similar to you in the before photos and post them somewhere you’ll see them every day to remind you to avoid making any unnecessary expenditures. Also, keep in mind that the items you buy now will most likely not suit your new, improved form, so you might as well put your shopping on hold and save for your new look instead.

While having many treatments on the same day can save you money, if multiple surgeries (such as a breast lift and a tummy tuck) are simply too expensive for you to finance all at once, consider breaking them up over a few years. Address your most pressing worry first, and you’ll feel a great sense of accomplishment as you pay off that operation. After a single surgery, you may require less time off work, which can help with affordability in the near run.

What does a mommy makeover cost?

Because mommy makeovers are completely customized to the needs of each patient, prices vary greatly. If you merely get a breast lift, for example, your overall costs will be substantially lower than if you had a stomach tuck and labiaplasty in addition to the breast lift.

One benefit of a mommy makeover with many operations is that you only have to pay operating room and anesthesiologist fees once, potentially saving you thousands of dollars over having two or more separate surgeries (you’ll also save time by only having one recovery). Let’s take a look at a common mommy makeover procedure combination: breast lift with augmentation and tummy tuck. A breast lift with augmentation costs around $10,800, while a stomach tuck costs around $7,000. The cost of this combination mommy makeover surgery is expected to be in the range of $14,000 to $17,000.

How long does it take to recuperate after a mommy makeover?

The amount of downtime you’ll require is determined by the processes you’ll be performing. If your mommy makeover simply includes breast surgery, you may only need 5 to 10 days off work. A tummy tuck will take 2 to 3 weeks to recover from. You will require full-time child care during this initial recuperation phase, as you will be unable to carry anything heavier than 5 to 10 pounds or perform any heavy play or housekeeping tasks. Driving is not permitted until you are no longer taking prescription pain relievers and can comfortably use a seat belt.

Taking time off for recovery may feel difficult, even ridiculous (take time, you say?). First and foremost, I must locate it!). I understand—ask your plastic surgeon if you have any questions! They can advise you on how long you should leave your children with an adult following surgery, as well as recommend trustworthy home health care or babysitting services if you wish to employ someone. As your rehabilitation develops, they will also advise you which activities are acceptable and which are not.

Will having more children jeopardize my mommy makeover?

Although “ruin” is a strong word, future pregnancies are likely to erase some of the gains obtained with a mommy makeover, which is designed to repair pregnancy-related affects after all. Your tummy and breasts will extend out, just as they did before, and may not contract all the way back to their normal state. As a result, I usually advise women to put off substantial lifting or skin removal surgeries, such as a breast lift or stomach tuck, until after they’ve completed having children.

Diet and exercise alone may not be enough to get rid of stubborn fat. When these options aren’t enough, many patients turn to CoolSculpting for its numerous benefits. You won’t have to go under the knife because it’s a non-surgical technique, and the results may pleasantly surprise you.

Controlled cooling is used to safely freeze and kill undesirable fat cells throughout the process. Your body automatically metabolizes and eliminates the cells once they’ve been killed. If you’re thinking about having this operation done, you should be aware of the benefits. Unlike invasive procedures, CoolSculpting has a very short recovery time. The procedure’s technology has been approved by the FDA, and there are no artificial ingredients involved. When compared to many other treatment choices, CoolSculpting provides unparalleled comfort and is one of the safest fat-reduction procedures available.

Treatment That Isn’t Invasive

Liposuction is a popular fat-reduction procedure that can produce spectacular results. Most people, on the other hand, prefer to avoid intrusive procedures, which is why they choose for CoolSculpting.

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive procedure because it does not require incisions. You can even read a book or play a game on your phone while receiving treatment because it is nearly painless.

Alternatives that are natural

CoolSculpting has a number of advantages, one of which is that it is completely natural. Your undesired fat cells are frozen throughout the process, and when the cells cool, they lose their ability to operate. When cells die, your body treats them as garbage and eliminates them normally.

Unlike some other treatments, this process ensures that stubborn fat cells are permanently removed as long as you keep a healthy lifestyle. CoolSculpting may be the solution for you if you’re seeking for a natural technique to get rid of stubborn fat deposits.

Specific Areas Should Be Targeted

Diet and exercise have long been suggested for fat loss, but they should be seen as tools with limitations. The difficulty with these devices is that they are unable to target specific fat spots on your body. If you’re like most people, you have a few stubborn fat pockets. CoolSculpting is effective against problem regions since it may target particular locations.

Additional Advantages

CoolSculpting has grown increasingly popular as a non-invasive process that does not require incisions, needles, or sutures. There’s no need to be concerned about scar tissue, anesthetic, or recovery time. It does not necessitate the use of painkillers. It is considerably more natural than liposuction, as it employs natural mechanisms to eliminate stubborn fat from your body.

With CoolSculpting, you can meet your summer body.

CoolSculpting, if you haven’t heard, is the newest non-invasive body reshaping therapy that targets and destroys fat. CoolSculpting works by sending chilling energy through the dermis to eliminate fat cells that aren’t responding to your efforts.

The FDA has authorized CoolSculpting, so you may rest assured that it is both safe and effective. There is also no downtime or recuperation time involved with the process. It’s no surprise that more people are asking for CoolSculpting by name, given that it can result in up to 20% fat loss after only one treatment!

CoolSculpting is a great option for customers who want to lose weight permanently without the invasiveness or cost of liposuction. The following are some of the advantages of CoolSculpting:

Everyone has five basic questions regarding getting a facelift.

Is a facelift still something people consider with so many facial treatments and nonsurgical treatment alternatives available that address indications of aging? A surgical facelift is still a good choice for many women and men who seek better facial definition, smoother skin, and a more youthful appearance. Facelifts are still the most effective approach to lift sagging facial tissue and eradicate sagging neck skin, despite the availability of various other options.

Here are some answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the operation to help you better understand it and determine if it is suitable for you.

  1. How can I tell whether I require a facelift?

It may be time to consider a facelift procedure if your regular regimen of creams and serums, or even nonsurgical treatment choices, are no longer effective. A facelift is the only therapeutic option if you have drooping skin that readily pulls away from the face and neck or hangs freely. This excess skin is removed during the facelift operation, resulting in a firm, young appearance.

  1. What happens in the operating room?

Depending on the cosmetic condition your surgeon is addressing, a facelift operation may include a variety of procedures. Incisions for a facelift are normally made in the hairline around the temple and make their way down to the lower scalp after anaesthetic has been delivered. The surgeon will sculpt or remove fat, rearrange underlying tissue, and raise facial muscles during this treatment. To address an aging neck, a minor incision under the chin may be required. Sutures or skin adhesives are used to close the incisions once they are finished.

  1. What about scarring and recovery?

For the first few days after your facelift, you should expect your lower face and neck to be uncomfortable and stiff. Pain relievers are commonly provided and can assist to alleviate discomfort. It is recommended that you take a couple of weeks off work to allow yourself to heal. For at least three weeks, you may be advised to avoid intense exercise. Individual healing durations vary, but swelling and bruising should be gone in around 10 days. Until your face heals completely, make-up is generally enough to hide any evidence of surgery.

Facelift scars are usually undetectable since the incisions follow your hairline. Even if a chin incision is required, it should be hidden by following the natural wrinkles in your chin.

  1. When will I be able to see tangible results?

Although you will have bruising and swelling for the first two weeks following the treatment, you may see changes in your facial appearance right away. Any remaining bruising can then be concealed with cosmetics. Your face may not yet feel normal, and healing might take anywhere from two to three months. Your face should appear considerably more youthful and toned, and many patients are able to reduce their age by up to ten years.

  1. What is the cost of the procedure?

The cost of a facelift depends on a number of factors, including the extent of the correction required, the surgeon’s experience, and the location of the treatment. The average cost of a facelift in the United States is $7,655, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Keep in mind that this cost estimate excludes anesthetic and operating room costs.

Choosing the proper sort of implants is one of the most crucial aspects of planning and preparing for breast augmentation. Breast implants made of silicone and saline are currently the most common choices for breast augmentation. Understanding your objectives and goals for this treatment will aid you in selecting the best implant type for you. By choosing saline-filled implants, you will get a number of significant benefits.

Breasts can play a significant role in a woman’s physical identity. Those who have full, lovely breasts have significantly more confidence than women who have small, drooping, or deflated breasts. Breast augmentation allows you to change the shape, size, and location of your breasts for a more attractive overall appearance. While both silicone and saline breast implants can be beneficial in this regard, saline implants are often thought to be the more natural of the two options. Because these simple gel inserts are packed with a natural saline solution, they may be absorbed quickly and safely by the body if a patient’s implants rupture or leak.

Sizes that are adaptable

Saline breast implants give you more control over the volume and contour of your breasts, which is important for achieving a well-balanced and beautiful figure. This is especially significant for people with asymmetrical or uneven breasts who want to fix them. As empty shells, these implants are placed into the body. Once the device is in place, our surgeon can progressively inject saline solution to get the desired volume. While the general size of your implants can be pre-determined, the option to make minor alterations after insertion will make it easier to personalize your outcomes to your goals and expectations.

If necessary, a smaller incision can be made./ Saline-based implants are sterile.

Another benefit of saline implants is that they can be implanted through a little incision beneath the breasts. For saline implants, a 1 inch scar is typical.

Saline implants are filled with sterilized salt water. They’re placed in empty containers, which are subsequently filled. Saline breast implants can be used for breast augmentation in women over the age of 18, and for breast reconstruction in women of any age.

No silent ruptures exist.

Because of the substance used, silent ruptures, or ruptures that are not immediately apparent, are a problem with silicone implants. With saline implants, this is not the case, and if one of them ruptures, it will be seen right away.

It can be used in conjunction with breast surgery that includes an incision in the underarm.

Because saline implants do not require filling, they can be placed through an underarm incision, leaving no scars on the breast.

They are easy to alter and give a harder sensation than gel-based implants.

When compared to silicone and other gel-based implants, saline implants feel substantially firmer. For some patients, this is preferable. It’s significantly easier to adjust saline implants once they’ve been implanted into the breasts because they’re filled afterward.

1) Botox Treatment

Wrinkles can be a nuisance, especially when they seem to creep and crawl across the skin on your face. Every time you look in the mirror, you might examine those frown lines, making your brow furrow even more. With Botox, you can eliminate these lines by relaxing the muscles in your face that cause the wrinkles to occur.

Administered without anesthesia, Botox is injected into the areas of concern with a small needle. You may feel some minor discomfort, but nothing that will last long. While the results of Botox treatment can take up to a week to show their full effect, you are certain to not be disappointed with the results. After about four to six months these results may fade, but after re-treatment your muscles will eventually be trained to relax, leaving you wrinkle-free.

2) Dermal Fillers

Similar to Botox, Dermal fillers are used to rid of wrinkles and unwanted lines in the face. While Botox relaxes muscles, Dermal fillers do exactly as they say: they fill in depressions in the face, so that you are left with a youthful, round frame. Still, you are not put under, and the procedure is as minimally invasive as possible.

As you age, the muscles and fat in your face can droop, leaving you with bags or wrinkles. Dermal fillers can replace that empty space underneath your skin, essentially plumping your face back up to a fuller shape. Oftentimes, Dermal fillers can be used to pump up the lips, but they can be used on other parts of the face, as well. There are several different types of Dermal fillers so that you can choose which of these ways to take care of your skin is best for you.

3) Rejuvenation with Laser Resurfacing

If you are looking for a long-term solution to your skin imperfection woes, consider laser resurfacing in order to rejuvenate the skin on your face. For those who have suffered extensive sun damage, have poor skin from diet or hereditary reasons, this type of rejuvenation might be the perfect choice for you. Additionally, this procedure can reduce the appearance of acne scars and age spots.

The lasers used in rejuvenation will cause the outermost layers of your skin to peel, leaving you with a fresh and even tone across your face. Though this sounds like it would be painful, it only brings a minor, burning sensation to your face, but it is not anything that is unbearable. After letting your skin heal completely, you will be ecstatic about the results.

One of the most important things to remember about CoolSculpting is that it works in conjunction with diet and exercise to help you achieve your ideal body. You’re undoubtedly wondering if CoolSculpting is effective. Simply put, it’s part of a larger package that begins to assist you become healthier. So, if you’re wondering what to do after a CoolSculpting process, make sure to include these fantastic fitness routines in your workout.

1) Cardiovascular and Yoga

It cannot be overstated that you must engage in cardio in order to burn fat and tone your body. The most effective thing you can do is go for a run. There’s no better way to burn calories and get a full-body exercise. At least three times every week, you should run for 45 minutes. If you don’t enjoy running, consider swimming, cycling, or using an elliptical machine. These are all acceptable alternatives, but if you truly want to see results, nothing beats running.

It’s easy to overlook how intertwined your body is. Yoga is an excellent way to maintain the results of your CoolSculpting operation since it connects all of your muscles, ligaments, and tendons. You’re not only going after trouble spots like belly fat, but also the surrounding tissues. Overall, it improves cardiovascular function, flexibility, and wellness while assisting fat loss. Each week, schedule two or three 45-minute sessions.

2) Strengthen Your Core and Weight Lifting

The majority of people want to lose weight in their stomach and obliques. You may effectively fight fat and keep the weight off by focusing on abdominal and core exercises. While many yoga programs contain ab exercises, you should also include distinct core workouts that comprise a variety of routines such as planks, crunches, sidewinders, and other exercises. You must include cardio in your program; otherwise, you will only be able to create a layer of muscle behind the fat.

This is one of the most common fitness misunderstandings. Many ladies avoid lifting weights because they don’t want their muscles to bulge. Weight lifting can be divided into two categories: muscle growth and toning. You’ll not only burn fat but also tone up if you stick to smaller weights and higher reps.

3) Incorporate dynamic stretching into your routine.

Dynamic and static stretching are the two types of stretching. All of these fantastic workouts benefit from a dynamic or active stretching warm-up. It ensures that you don’t get hurt and that your body is in good shape for an exercise. Windmills, leg and arm swings, page turns, and other dynamic stretching exercises are just a few examples. Furthermore, if you can’t go to the gym one day, these stretches can help you burn calories no matter where you are. And they only take 10 minutes to complete!

Getting the Most Out of Your CoolSculpting Procedure

At the end of the day, CoolSculpting is the icing on the cake in terms of achieving the physical results you desire. Your CoolSculpting before and after results will astound you. Facelifts can be a great option if your face starts to age. The world of plastic surgery has seen a lot of changes in the last decade, thanks to the advent of fillers and other injections. This means that some patients might not require the traditional facelift. In this procedure, the incisions are made around a patient’s scalp and pulled back.

How do you decide which facelift is right for you? And what are the results you can expect? You can take a look at the following:

Traditional Facelift

Because it has been around for decades, the traditional facelift is perhaps the most popular type of facelift. This is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that repositions the skin and muscles of the neck and face. It improves the jawline. The skin can be pulled back by a plastic surgeon to reduce sagging and wrinkles. To give you a younger and more refreshed appearance, they will trim excess skin.

Endoscopic facelifts are performed by some plastic surgeons. These devices minimize the incisions and make the procedure more comfortable.

If you have any of the following symptoms, you may consider a traditional facelift.

Non-Invasive Facelift

A noninvasive facelift is a great option for younger patients who don’t need to undergo a traditional facelift. It can give you a youthful, restorative result without any incisions or pain medication. Nonsurgical facelifts use facial fillers and injections to contour the jawline, add volume and reduce wrinkles. Depending on the skin fillers used, these results can last up to two years.

If you have any of the following symptoms, you may consider a non-invasive facelift:

Is Juvederm Better Than Botox?

Quick facts

About:

Wrinkles are treated using Juvéderm and Botox.

Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid (HA)-based filler that plumps up the skin. Botox injections relax face muscles for a short period of time.

Safety:

Both procedures can cause temporary discomfort and agony.

Loss of blood, scarring, and allergic reactions are all serious but uncommon Juvéderm hazards.

Botox can induce sagging skin and headaches. Paralysis and toxicity are more significant, but infrequent, side effects.

Convenience:

Juvéderm and Botox are fast procedures that take only a few minutes to perform. Because of the quantity of injections required, larger patches of skin may take longer.

While this is convenient, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get these procedures performed by a qualified medical doctor – make sure you see a dermatologist or surgeon for your injections.

Cost:

With an average cost of $600 per injection, Juvéderm is slightly more expensive.

Botox is less expensive per unit, but depending on the treatment region, you may require many units (up to 20). This can cost up to $550 in total.

Efficacy:

Despite the fact that both treatments are effective, Juvéderm works faster and lasts longer. Botox takes a few days to take effect, and the effects last for several months.

Regardless of which treatment you pick, you will require follow-up sessions to maintain your results.

Overview

You may be familiar with the brand names Juvéderm and Botox when it comes to wrinkle treatment. Both of these injectables are delivered by a medical aesthetician or a dermatologist and are noninvasive.

While all therapies have similar goals, the active components in these injections are different. They are also dissimilar in terms of cost, timeframe, and outcomes. There are also some dangers to think about. Learn more about these distinctions so you can make the best decision possible.

Juvéderm versus Botox: A Comparison

Aesthetic dermatologists offer both Juvéderm and Botox for the treatment of wrinkles. There are significant differences between the two therapies to consider.

Juvéderm

Juvéderm is a noninvasive technique that does not require surgery. Each solution contains a hyaluronic acid gel that works to “fill in” wrinkles from beneath the skin. Different versions of the volumizing solution are available to treat different types of wrinkles in adults:

Lidocaine is present in all “XC” formulations to help with pain and discomfort.

Botox

While Botox is likewise a noninvasive wrinkle treatment, the chemicals are significantly different. Botox injections contain botulinum toxin A, a type of neurotoxin that relaxes and stills facial muscles. As a result, your skin seems smoother, and wrinkles near the injection site go away.

Botox is used to treat the following conditions:

What is the duration of each procedure?

Juvéderm and Botox are both short procedures with small time differences. Juvéderm injections are more likely to produce faster results.

Duration of the Juvéderm procedure

Each surgery might take as little as 15 minutes or as much as an hour, according to the Juvéderm website. This is dependent on the number of shots you receive and the area being treated. Each injection may cause a tiny prickling sensation, but it isn’t meant to be uncomfortable.

According to the manufacturer, Juvéderm injections produce immediate results.

Botox treatment timeframe

Botox injections, like Juvéderm, take only a few minutes to finish. The more skin you want to treat, the more injections you’ll require. The therapy session will take a little longer if you have many injections.

Botox treatments for wrinkles can take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours to show effects.

Contrasting the outcomes

Because of its gel nature, Juvéderm results are seen sooner. It also has the potential to last longer than Botox. The significant variations in outcomes for both therapies are listed below.

Juvéderm outcomes

Juvéderm’s results are seen right away. While individual outcomes may vary, the manufacturer says that the injections’ benefits might continue for up to two years. The long-term outcomes of different formulations can also differ.

According to one study, persons who used Juvéderm reported a high level of satisfaction. Those who used the product for areas surrounding their face reported 65.6 percent satisfaction, while those who used it for the eye area reported 71 percent happiness. Juvéderm lip treatments were proven to be effective for up to a year in another study conducted by Trusted Source.

Botox’s effects

Botox takes less time per session than Juvéderm, but the benefits can fade sooner. Botox injections, according to the company, might last up to four months. After this period, you’ll require more injections.

Who would be a good candidate?

Candidates for Juvéderm or Botox injections should ideally be in good health, as with any other medical procedure. These injections are also not recommended for anyone under the age of 18 or pregnant women.

Candidates for Juvéderm

Juvéderm is a cosmetic filler for adults. It’s not meant to treat any underlying medical issues. If you’re allergic to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine, you shouldn’t use Juvéderm.

Candidates for Botox

You must be at least 18 years old and under the age of 65 to be considered for Botox. If you’ve had previous responses to botulinum toxin from other injections, such as Dysport, you should avoid this treatment. If you have specific skin problems or thick areas of skin at the treatment site, you may not be eligible.

In truth, a Mommy Makeover is a smart marketing term that traditionally refers to a woman who has had children and seeks to restore her pre-pregnancy figure who has combined cosmetic surgery of the breasts (most often an augmentation, or “boob job“) with a tummy tuck.

A Mommy Makeover is customized to each patient’s “makeover” goals. There are no unbreakable rules! And, believe it or not, these operations do not require pregnancy; some women experience physical changes similar to pregnancy, such as severe weight loss or aging.

While some moms’ bodies do not alter much after pregnancy, the majority of women do. Breast deflation, drooping and sagging, abdominal stretch marks, separation of the abdominal muscles resulting in abdominal wall bulging, and additional fat deposits that stubbornly persist despite a balanced diet and regular exercise are common alterations.

Unfortunately, many of these changes are irreversible, despite Moms’ efforts to become physically fit and follow a good diet and lifestyle… The good news is that this is exactly where a Mommy Makeover might come in handy!

Is it necessary to have a breast augmentation and a stomach tuck as part of a Mommy Makeover? No.

In truth, a “Mommy Makeover” can include any cosmetic operation involving the breasts, body, or face, and it does not always have to require invasive surgery.

Some ladies will benefit from a breast lift or reduction to reach their personal makeover goals without the use of implants. Other women may not want their breasts altered at all, preferring instead to focus on their midsections and hips/thighs.

Even if their children are in primary school, some mothers, especially after twin pregnancies or having numerous children, have a lot of stretch marks and still look pregnant! These women want a belly tuck to repair their abdominal walls and reposition their stretched-out muscles. Others may benefit from a labiaplasty and a little BOTOX® Cosmetic.

Other physical parts that some mothers are concerned about include their hips and thighs, arms, neck fat, and skin health. We discuss liposuction, CoolSculpting®, or skin lightening treatments like intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy, medical grade peels, or skin care products with clients to address these regions.

Others, on the other hand, are merely concerned in softening their crow’s feet and restoring volume to their lips and/or face to restore a more young and invigorated appearance. A Mommy Makeover for these Moms can merely entail a “sprinkling” of BOTOX® injections and/or dermal fillers for a NATURAL, never overdone look.

Finally, each Mommy Makeover performed at my office is personalized to a woman’s physique, her exact surgical wishes, her anatomy, and the realistic amount of recovery time she has. When I meet new patients for a consultation, we talk about their Mommy Makeover goals in great detail.

So that we may focus our treatment strategy on their areas of concern, women should prioritize their body issues #1, #2, #3, and so on. If their breasts and tummy are the problem regions, we’d recommend a combination operation to address both of them at the same time.

Combining Plastic Surgery operations saves time and money because there is only one anesthesia, one recuperation, and one period of downtime following.
