Addressing Dynamic Wrinkles

Wrinkle Reducers like Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau, are extremely effective at diminishing the presence of fine lines and wrinkles that are caused by the regular formation of your facial expressions. Our expert physicians can fine-tune the effects of your wrinkle relaxer treatment so that your facial wrinkles are softened according to your specific personal goals. In the upper face, wrinkle relaxers soften, and sometimes erase, horizontal forehead lines, frown lines between the brows (the "11's"), and crow's feet. In the midface, they can soften bunny lines, and in the lower face, they help with the wrinkles that form around the mouth. Effective Treatments. Impressive Results.

These wrinkle reducers are powerhouses, and our patients are regularly delighted by their ability to create such impressive results.

In addition to reducing wrinkles and the harshness of certain facial expressions, we also use them to shape the eyebrows, lips, and face.

We love how they lift or arch the brows, create a subtle "lip flip," slim the lower face, and enhance the jawline, and we’re confident that you will, too.

The Five Rs of Facial Rejuvenation

Our signature approach to full facial rejuvenation, coined the “The 5Rs to Facial Rejuvenation,” is designed to globally address the signs of aging and achieve long-lasting results. Each R works together to restore different layers of the face using a combination of surgical and non-surgical procedures. This advanced method includes relaxing muscles, replenishing lost volume, restoring the skin, repositioning the tissues, and reducing facial volume.

R1 – Relax Muscles

We help to relax the muscles and smooth out the appearance of wrinkles by addressing the forehead, crow’s feet, frown lines, masseter lines, chin, and lip lines with muscle relaxer treatments like Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Daxxi. Muscle relaxers also help to reduce migraines, excessive sweating ,and gummy smiles.

R2 – Replenish Lost Volume

Whether you have volume loss from weight loss or due to the aging process, we can help replenish the volume and contour the face with fillers like Juvéderm, Restylane, RHA, Sculptra, or Radiesse. When combining relaxation of the muscles (R1) with replenishing lost volume (R2) it can make a tremendous difference. We can enhance your results when using R2 in combination with volume reduction techniques (R5), repositioning of the tissue (R4), and restoring the skin (R3).

R3 – Restore the Skin

At Integrated Aesthetics, we offer a robust portfolio of skin resurfacing and tightening devices to help improve the texture, health, and appearance of your skin. Depending on whether the focus is improving discoloration, pore size, fine lines, or mild skin laxity, we offer different options that target different skin concerns.

R4 – Reposition the Tissue

As we get older, our tissues start to sag down. Anything we can do to reposition the tissue can help give you a more lifted appearance. Surgically, we can do a facelift (mini, full, or extended) or neck lift. On the minimally invasive side, we can use threads like Silhouette InstaLift, PDO threads, or MyEllevate to internally lift and reposition the tissues.

R5 – Reduce Facial Volume

Sometimes, instead of having volume lost as we age, we develop excess fullness. It can be fullness under our chin (double chin) or in the jowl area. If we reduce the fullness in the double chin region, it’s also going to help define the transition from the lower face to the neck. This can be done with procedures that either dissolve the fat (Kybella), tighten or melt the fatty tissue (AccuTite), remove the fat (Liposuction), or even freeze the fat (CoolSculpting).

Developing Your Treatment Plan

As with all aesthetic procedures, the most critical part is coming up with the right plan for the right patient. Our expert physicians customize every wrinkle-reducer treatment by observing your face at rest and with movement. By analyzing which facial expressions you use most often, they can soften your expressions and also prevent the wrinkles that ultimately form from such movement. After observing your natural expressions, they will create a plan that gives you the most benefit from this treatment.

Before the day of your consultation, we will spend some time learning more about your health history, your previous aesthetic experiences, and your goals. During your consultation, your Patient Experience Coordinator and Dr. Cho or Dr. Chiang will discuss your concerns in more depth. The doctor will assess your face and neck and suggest treatment options that would be most impactful for you. Many times, a comprehensive approach (see complementary procedures) will be presented as we like to share how we can achieve the best results.

Wrinkle Relaxers FAQ

Do you offer alternative procedures?

What else do I need to know?

Are there any risks associated with this procedure?

Do you offer alternative procedures?

There are no other treatments that reduce wrinkles by weakening the muscles. However, we can achieve a similar, more subtle effect by using dermal fillers to diminish the ability of the muscle to contract. This effect of carefully-placed filler is called "myomodulation."

We can also increase the skin's ability to resist deformation from the muscle's contraction by strengthening the skin through energy-based treatments. Energy-based treatments use controlled heat to injure the skin, and the skin responds by repairing itself and creating new collagen.

What else do I need to know?

Maintenance is required, as your results will last for three to six months before the treatment needs to be repeated.

Are there any risks associated with this procedure?

Risks will depend upon the area being injected. For example, treatment of horizontal forehead lines can result in a drooping of the brows or an accentuation of the wrinkle right above the eyebrow. Our expert physician-injectors will counsel you about these risks based on the specific areas where you may be treated.
